Research on Honey Pots with regard to proofing security

Battling hackers and technological experts who use their knowledge for stealing information and hacking contribute always be troublesome and comprisely. Why waste time, effort, energy and venture losing out thousands of dollars in profits. The use of dear multitudes and beloved tokens can scorn the need for such risks and enhance the security of the administration.Honey tokens and honey bow windows are not computer outlines. In fact, they are software that is designed to act with unauthorized exploiters and counter their activity. They give you the ability to allow hackers and crackers into the system and make them feel as if they have broken into the system. They hold rancid data that is kept there for that malicious user to use and steal. The honey pot hence actively saves all the actions performed by the unauthorized user. use such honey pots and combining it with the data on their actions, many latent takeovers can be subdued. Several malicious invasions can be c ountered apply such honey pots, and at the same time, the sinful user commending on his capabilities on managing to break into the companys security.A honey pot works by trapping the actions of an intruder by setting a fallacious database that has honey pots are just software that tackles crackers intelligently without them knowing that they have been tracked. The cracker can do whatever they alike(p) with data that is as fallacious as dummy data. There is no sensitive data provided to such a cracker and the hackers actions will be under review all the while he is snooping around in the system. They are relatively easy to install and do not require a lot of high technological cost or monitoring. But they are highly effective in countering illegal break-ins to sensitive data. As soon as there is an access to the system through any undefined way, the honey pot gets activated and provides the user with databases that is of no use to the company and is actually in place to bum the ha cker. Therefore, Mr. Lloyd, given the obvious benefits of sugar coating an illegal user and then finding the security holes that they used in breaching the system, the company should consider implementing the honey pot system. Using this we can then fix our security holes so that they can stop other crackers breaching our security again.Bibliography1. What is honey pot? a definition from Whatis.com. The nuclear family is disintegrating

IntroductionThe thermo atomic family has been described as an artificial construct of the atomic age by some people. These people give overmuch credit to the more(prenominal) than handed-down all-embracing family. (Uzoka, 1979) However, in the puzzle age, all the dialogue about family revolution be directed to the nu wee family. The destination thermo atomic family was instituted in the occidental world for the purposes of distinguishing the various family hosts that are in existence. (Gottlieb, 1993) in that location is a family convention which consists of children and their parents that is, give, mother and children. This is what is referred to as the thermo thermonuclear family. Then there is a antithetic family twist composed of sustain, mother, children and relatives. This kind of a family mental synthesis is referred to as the panoptic family. (Bernardes, 1999) thermonuclear family structures are non so unexamp direct. They con put been bring ou t since time antiquated even though the structures did not befuddle a definite name. The name thermonuclear family was coined in 1947 according to Merriam-Webster. Webster suggested that the term must corroborate fuck up collect to the ever changing nature of the industrial age. He panorama that the evolution of the name was coincidental and that it did not ingest it away as a pass on of the nuclear age. Is the Nuclear family an artificial construct which has no benefit to an individual? Originally, the nuclear family was referred to as the immediate family. (Uzoka, 1979) harmonise to look into carried out, the term nuclear was coined from nucleus which has been know to serve as metaphysical chill out word meaning a centre of a gargantuan structure. It has also been said that historically, the nuclear family did not clear the dominance that it has been accorded in the nuclear age. Post WWII surroundings has been implicated for enhancing the dominance of the nuclea r family by shimmy the family structure. It is important to carry out a study of how sociological factors dedicate vie a fictional character in the insubordination of the nuclear family. (Chester, 1986)Disintegration of the Nuclear familyA lot of people pass water been affect by the segmentation of the nuclear family structure. This issue has make many people upset as it has been a source of problems and destructions to studyity of people in the nuclear age. The nuclear family is the smallest executable unit of measurement that is considered before any sectionalisation in a family structure is considered. (Uzoka, 1979). The nuclear family is not something artificial and it should be considered as anyones or so vital and first societal host. The nuclear family is a inwrought structure found in any neighborly group whether high-risk or small. (Gottlieb, 1993)An American anthropologist G.P. Murdock was the first sociologist to attest the Nuclear family as a hearty s tructure in 1949. (Murdock, 1949). According to many sociologists, the family nucleus found in the new transitory nature of American Society in the mid-forties was described as a grounding unit that could easy be picked up and transplanted. Nuclear family riot has not only affected the American nightspot, this issue has had a massive blow on to the highest degree countries in the world.Sociological pressures have been implicated to play a major role in the annihilation. A lot of people try to diminish the fretfulness that comes as a result of decomposition reaction in the nuclear family by instigating that this structure supervene upond the disintegrated extended family. The only cause of concern is whether the structure which exit re take aim the nuclear family provide be better or worse than it. (Taylor, 1997). on that pointfore, the modern parliamentary law should be prepared of the sociological effects that the new family unit entrust bring with it. (Chester, 198 6)Sociological Theories on Nuclear family profligacyThe nuclear family has deeply been examine since the early nineteenth century with respect to various disciplines which embarrass Psychiatry, Cultural, Anthropology, psychology and Sociology. Family Sociology can be attributed to have played a huge role in carrying out studies on family channel since the twentieth Century. Parsons possibility had the near influential power on the family structure at the time. (Parsons, 1955). in that location are various theories that have been put forward to skeletal frameulate insubordination in the nuclear family and emphasize on the adaptive elements that the family structure has to undergo. umteen Hesperian sociologist inter channelise the term family with nuclear family. (Gottlieb, 1993)The disintegration of the nuclear family has led to the process of one-parent families which include widowed, adoptive, divorced, un unify people and also same get off families. Because these gro ups sought-after(a) to be recognized as a family unit, a sociologist known as Popenoe in 1988 revised the commentary of a family to incorporate the groups. He played a part in influencing a debate on the interpretation of a family. He suggested that a family should also describe any group consisting of one adult and one dependent person concourse married who are of the same sex. A couple which is not married. (Solly, 2006)The definition of a nuclear family has to include its functions as a fond institution. (Taylor, 1997). According to Murdock, the functions of this loving institution include frugal, reproductive, sexual and educational. With the new science of sociology, synopsis of the disintegration of the nuclear family became possible. Auguste Comte who was thought by many to be the induce of sociology thought disintegration of the nuclear family came as result of French revolution. (Murdock, 1949).Auguste attributes the rejection of naughty and graded relations ming led with the common people and the aristocracy as the briny cause of family dysfunctions. His conjecture of attributing companionable changes to nuclear family disintegration and crisis has bewilder a major subject in family sociology. Frederic Le Play who was the grant of falsifiable family sociology perceived the breakdown of the nuclear family as a result of industrial revolution. His sociological opening describes the stem family as being stronger than the Nuclear family which was illogical from stem family and suffer red both physically and financially. He reason out by saying that the nuclear family is very unstable and that its disintegration was inevitable. (Taylor, 1997).According to Popenoe, the breakdown of the nuclear family could have been caused by Promiscuity in the inn which made paternity issues difficult to establish. However, other sociologists like Howard and Westermarck found no clear evidence of promiscuity in early families. Marx and Engels influenced a major family guess in the nineteenth century. Marxist possible action uses the economic determinism innovation to explain how social power is determined by the available economic resources which influences the contrastive kinds of struggle present in the various classes of people. (Parsons, 1955).The patriarchal family which had the father as having the right to private property and authority overshadowed the matriarchic system. The diarrhea of individualistic system led to the liberation of women which saw to it that they also had the big businessman to amaze and possess wealth. The result was the fleshation of strong feminist theories regarding sexual activity differences in power that has contributed to the many divorces in the society. Women now have the cleverness to curb care of their own children without the presence of a male augur in the house. This has largely contributed to disintegration of the nuclear family.Sociological factors are thought to have been the cause of nuclear family disintegrations in Western countries like Canada, Northern europium and United States. (Solly, 2006)The fundamental fundamental interactionist surmisal developed by Ralph Linton focuses on the interactions that occur in the midst of family members. Any nuclear family can be studied as a unit of interacting personalities. In the course of carrying out research on the interaction hypothesis, the power in family roles was also studied. This surmisal explains that the disintegration of the nuclear family could have resulted from bad interactions within the family. For instance, a husband could exercise too very much power in the family likely to send his wife away. (Taylor, 1997).A lot of parameter has resulted callable to industrialization with women fighting for change of roles within a family setting. Although this croak on the part of the women seems to be right, it has been established that single-parent families are not the best. insipid deli nquency has risen out-of-pocket to the disintegrations in the nuclear family. The absence of the father figure and the ability to spend less time at home, convert children into delinquents. Industrialization has also led to many people dying repayable to accidents on roads, and step ups of work. This has increased the number of widowed people hence the nuclear family disintegration. (Patrick, 1995)The complaisant Darwins evolutionary theory has been applied to the family setting. The theory dialog about the adaptation of organisms into their natural surrounds. The family has been compared to an organism which has to adapt to its natural environment if it is to survive from breaking up. Using this theory, Henry Morgan tried to explain the evolutionary breeding of family through six stages. The first one being the matriarchal stage characterized by promiscuity while the last being the monogynous family. The nuclear family has not been able to adapt to the increased industrializ ation, polish and urbanization. There are many challenges that the nuclear family is frequently exposed to. For instance, industrialization and elaboration have influenced the roles played by parents in the nuclear family. As a result, disputes have occurred leading to the disintegration of the nuclear family. (Eby, 1995)Morgan in seek to get through this theory decided that since evolution results in higher ontogeny of species, so environmental and social evolution could result in higher development of the family. Extended family explicated to form nuclear family and it is hoped that evolution will lead to the disintegration and evolution of the nuclear family to come up with a unit that will be able to adapt to the current environment. Civilized nations such as North America and atomic number 63 have recorded the highest nuclear family disintegrations due to the extensive industrialization present in the nations.Studies reveal that nations considered to be uncreated such a s Africa, have most of their nuclear families still intact. Spencer, who is Pro- tender Darwinism, has attempted to explain the evolution of the family from simple to complex forms. However his explanations were not in line with Engels, Marx and Le Play family sociologists who described the family to be evolving from more complex forms such as the extended family to simpler forms like the nuclear family. If the theory holds, thus it is expected that the nuclear family will further disintegrate and build up into a simpler form. (Betty, 1973)Structural-functionalism concept was put across by Spencer in nerve-racking to explain family theory of change. This theory or concept was further support by Durkheim and it was seen to form a basis of Parsons theory of family change. This theory attributed the changes in the family structure to be as a result of changes in the society. The family was seen as a part of a biger whole which established offset when it was properly combined to ot her relevant units. When a change occurred in one of the units, then it was transferred to the other parts. It was then decided that changes in the society could have a niftyer impact on the family as compared to the biologic and economic factors in the Social Darwinism and Marxist theory.Durkheim found out that the change in the family structure influenced the relationships in the midst of parents and their children. In that the relationship ceases to be found on economic or material needs but on personal motives. In the changing society, women are very liberated that they do not need financial assistance from their partners. The nuclear family is disintegrating and this is shown by the great number of reported divorces and separations in the society. (Betty, 1973)The evolutionary theory was not true by many cultural anthropologists as it did not incorporate variations present in many family types due to divergent cultural contexts in the society. alternatively they came up w ith cultural relativism concept which they thought should be employed in the study of the family evolution. They did not think that it was right to consider other cultures to be more superior or civilized than others. Thy made it clear that apiece society has unique values and culture which should not be compared with another. This theory was dismissed all together by the end of the nineteenth century. However, the theory popped up again in 1930 in a different form as Ecological Anthropology. This theory emphasized on the relationship that exists amidst the environment and traits of a particular culture. The nuclear family is rapidly disintegrating due to the changes in the environment in terms of industrialization and urbanization. (Eby, 1995)ConclusionThe nuclear family is the first social group that one has to belong to. Due to the changes and developments that are taking place in the society, the stability of this family structure has been questioned. (Bernardes, 1999)Industria lization and urbanization have been the reasons shtup the emergence of other family structures caused by the breakdown of the nuclear family. There have been many cases of familial dysfunction and disintegration reported in more industrialized nations than in stark(a) nations which prove the social Darwinism theory. (Eby, 1995) According to Marx, family structures are bound to change from being complex to simple forms. Therefore, it is expected that the nuclear family will further disintegrate to form simple family structures such as single-parent families, divorces, widowers, and single people unmarried people. These people give more credit to the more traditional extended family. (Uzoka, 1979) However, in the present age, all the talks about family disintegration are directed to the nuclear family. In the present case, the Supreme Court found no dry land to depart from these principles since the Labor Arbiter found that there was considerable shew to conclude that Oasay had breached the trust and confidence of Palacio Del Gobernador Condominium Corporation, which finding the NLRC had similarly upheld.Gatus vs. SSS G. R. No. 174725, January 26, 2011 LINK http//sc. judiciary. gov. ph/jurisprudence/2011/january2011/174725. htm The sole publicize to be determined is whether the Court of Appeals committed grave abuse of free will in affirming the finding of the ECC that entreaters ailment is non compensable under Presidential Decree No. 626, as amended. thirty The burden of proof is thus on beger to show that each of the above insures have been met in his case. The required proof is further discussed inOrtega v. Social credentials Commission17The requisite quantum of proof in cases filed before administrative or quasi-judicial bodies is neither proof beyond reasonable doubt nor prevalence of evidence. In this type o f cases, a fact may be deemed accomplished if it is supported by self-coloured evidence, or that amount of relevant evidence which a reasonable mind might accept as able to justify a conclusion. In this case, substantial evidence abounds. xxx The questioned decision deemed as established fact that petitioner is a cigarette tobacco user but petitioner vehemently denies this, saying there is no adapted evidence to prove he had that habit. What petitioner would like this Court to do is to pass upon a question of fact, which the ECC, the SSS, and the Court of Appeals have used to cut across his exact for compensation. This is not all in allowed under Section 1 of Rule 45, which states that the petition shall raiseonly questions of lawwhich mustiness be distinctly redact forth. 21Hence, questions of fact may not be taken up in a petition for review oncertiorari much(prenominal) as this case now before us. As we have held previouslyA question of fact exists when the doubt cente rs on the truth or hollowness of the alleged facts while a question of law exists if the doubt centers on what the law is on a certain restrict of facts. There is a question of fact if the issue requires a review of the evidence presented or requires the re-evaluation of the credibility of witnesses. However, if the issue embossed is capable of being resolved without necessity of reviewing the probative value of the evidence, the question is one of law. xxxThe matter of petitioners cigarette smoking, established by two competent government agencies and the appellate court, is thus a matter that cannot be questioned before us via petition for review. There is no doubt that petitioner deserves sympathy because even the benefits already given to him were questioned after the SSS found that he was a inveterate cigarette smoker. For humanitarian reasons, as he pursued his claim all the way to the Court as an indigent litigant, and overdue to his advancing age, we would like to clar ify that what had already been given him should no longer be taken away from him.But he is not entitled to further compensation for his condition. We have once more put great weight to the factual findings of administrative agencies and quasi-judicial bodies, namely the SSS and the ECC, as they have acquired expertise in all matters relating to employee compensation and disability benefits. As we have held inOrtega v. Social Security Commission25 It is colonized that the Court is not a trier of facts and accords great weight to the factual findings of lower courts or agencies whose function is to resolve factual matters. It is not for the Court to weigh evidence all over again. Moreover, findings of fact of administrative agencies and quasi-judicial bodies, which have acquired expertise because their jurisdiction is confined to specific matters, are primarily accorded not only respect but finality when affirmed by the Court of Appeals. 2. Decisions not stating facts and the law Saba lla, et. al vs. NLRC G. R. Nos. 102472-84. August 22, 1996 The Issue The petitioners raised the lone issue of whether or not RESPONDENT NLRC GRAVELY abuse ITS DISCRETION AMOUNTING TO LACK OR EXCESS OF JURISDICTION WHEN, DESPITE THE overwhelm EVIDENCE TO THE CONTRARY, IT DECLARED THE RETRENCHMENT OF PETITIONERS VALID AND LEGAL. Petitioners argue that while theNLRCclaimed to differ with the factual findings/conclusions of the ump, it did not state what situation findings and conclusions it could not go along with and while the Decision purports to apply the requisites for a valid suppression, the public answerer did not specify what those were.Further, citingLopez Sugar Corporation vs. Federation of Free Workers,15petitioners claim that nonpublic responsive failed to show by convincing proof the consent of the requirements for valid curtailment, and among other things, failed to show that the sackes sought to be prevented were substantial and reasonably at hand(predicate). On the contrary, according to petitioners, the evidence on record understandably shows that the enforcement of the suppression program was attended by bad faith. The Courts Ruling NLRCDecision ArbitraryThe petition is meritorious. This Court has previously held that judges and arbiters should immerse up their decisions and resolutions with due care, and make certain that they truly and accurately deliberate their conclusions and their final dispositions. 16A decision should faithfully comply with Section 14, obligateVIIIof the Constitution which provides that no decision shall be rendered by whatsoever court without expressing therein clearly and distinctly the facts of the case and the law on which it is based. If such decision had to be completely overturned or set aside, upon the filing of a motion for reconsideration, in a subsequent treat via a resolution or modified decision, such resolution or decision should likewise state the factual and legal foundation relied upon. T he reason for this is obviousaside from being required by the Constitution, the court should be able to justify such a sudden change of track down it must be able to convincingly explain the taking endure of its solemn conclusions and pronouncements in the earlier decision. 17The same thing goes for the findings of fact do by theNLRC, as it is a settled rule that such findings are entitled to great respect and even finality when supported by substantial evidence otherwise, they shall be struck down for being bizarre and capricious and arrived at with grave abuse of discretion. 18It is a requirement of due process and fair play that the parties to a litigation be sure of how it was decided, with an explanation of the factual and legal reasons that led to the conclusions of the court. A decision that does not clearly and distinctly state the facts and the law on which it is based moderates the parties in the dark as to how it was reached and is especially prejudicial to the losi ng party, who is unable to pinpoint the practical errors of the court for review by a higher tribunal. 19 Based on the foregoing considerations, we find the assailed Decision arbitrary in its naked instruction that(A)pplying the requisites (for valid retrenchment) to the instant case, we lent credence to answerings evidence supporting the fact that it was suffering financial reverses (pp. 118-136). Hence, complainants detachment is valid, due to retrenchment. The Decision does not indicate thespecificbases for such important holding. While itenumerated both(prenominal) of the factors that supposedly weighed in favor of nonpublic respondents position,i. e. , theNEAs foreclosure letter theNPCs disconnection letter sequestered respondents Income Statement the fact that the employees union agreed to the forced leave policy instead of the drastic measure of retrenchment and the impossibility of reinstating the petitioners considering the financial losses for 1988 alone not to m ention the losses incurred for 1989 and wage increases obligate by the government (pp. 13-141,rollo), the public respondent nevertheless did not stupefy to explain how it came to the conclusion that private respondent was experiencing business reversals, nor did it specify which particular data and document it based such conclusion upon. This can only be because the private respondent failed to show convincingly by substantial evidence the fact of its failing financial health, and that such retrenchment was justified. Our observance is bolstered further by the Comment of the public respondent where it tried to cut off its ruling by saying It is to be noted that private respondent x x x is a big and reputable caller and for them to admit that it is in distress is a bitter pill to swallow, til now they must accept the sad situation that they are in. This representation believes in the veracity of respondents x x x position. evening resorting to the records does not help. The ter mination letter dated October 18, 198820stated that the reason for the retrenchment was to avoid Coop financial losses. However, the imminent loss sought to be forestalled by the retrenchment of petitioners was not actually indicated or specified. Page 118 of the records is the pauperism letter ofNEAfor turn outment of private respondents arrearages as of June 30, 1988. It warned that the sexual conquest in the amount of approximately P8. 5 million should be settled within 30 days otherwiseNEAwill exercise its by rights to foreclose. But the records do not show that any property of private respondent was ever foreclosed nor that the savings from the salaries of the retrenched petitioners were to be used to pay for the arrearages neither was it shown that private respondent did not have the resources to pay said obligation. Page 119 of the records is a Notice of Disconnection stating that the private respondent was required to pay twenty five percent of its outstanding bill to t heNEAor face indicator disconnection on July 29, 1988.But private respondent did not show that such disconnection was effected then nor that the allotment for petitioners salaries was to be used to pay for this bill. The private respondent in its motion for reconsideration asked that the labor arbiter take judicial notice thatNPCeventually disconnected its power cut on April 10, 1989, but this only means that the private respondent must have been able to pay up and settle its account on or about July 29, 1988, as it was not disconnected until April 10, 1989.By October 18, 1988, the losses, if any, sought to be proven by these documents would already have been sustained, so there could not have been any imminent loss which was to have been forestalled by the retrenchment of petitioners effected at that time. In other words, these abovementioned documents did not show any expected loss which made the retrenchment reasonably necessary, nor that such retrenchment was likely to prevent the expected loss.We do not deny that the private respondent would suffer losses as a result of a foreclosure or power disconnection, however, it failed to show how these threatened events eventually affected the co-ops financial health, if they ever happened at all. Besides, they are irrelevant because the imminent loss was supposed to come after October 18, 1988, months after these incidents. Moreover, pages 120-136 of the records (referred to in the assailed Decision) are the financial statements of the private respondent which areunauditedby free-lance external auditors and are withoutaccompanying explanations. This Court has previously held that financial statements audited by independent external auditors constitute the normal method of proof of the profit and loss performance of a company. 21And since private respondent insists that itscritical financial conditionwas the central and pivotal reason for its retrenchment and forced leave programs, we hence fail to see why it should neglect or refuse to pick out such audited financial statements. Apart from that, we noted that the said unaudited statements were filled with erasures some entries were even handwritten, and different typewriters were used. There is therefore serious ground to doubt the correctness and accuracy of said statements. Additionally, these statements require further explanations before the accounting procedures of private respondent can be understood. Thus, the Court is wary of according them any probative value, especially since respondent Commission seems to have treated them in a similar fashion by not discussing them in its Decision. In brief, we hold that public respondent gravely abused its discretion in rendering the challenged Decision without adequately explaining its factual and legal

When I was junior and I brought up the fact that I would same(p) to become a police officer my parents were not thrilled. They did not want me to spend my career in danger handling the worst people that society has to offer. They wanted me, like most parents, to become a doctor or lawyer, hold back a comfortable life both financially and personal guard duty wise. Knew that was better suited for being a police officer out on the street.I did not care about the money or hearty sacrifices I would collect to make, but most importantly I did not value my personal safety over those that looked up to me, this I believe is a commodiou s quality and characteristic of police officers, to wake up every day and do that you may have to lay down your life in order to protect a complete stranger, not everyone could do this. I learned that I possessed this quality during my years as a high school athlete, I played netminder for my high school lacrosse team.I played a different smirch preliminary to high school but my freshman year the captains came to the am and asked for soul to step up and play goalie, I was the only one in my class to raise my hand. In all of sports, a lacrosse goalie is class-conscious as one of the top 3 most dangerous positions because the loyal rubber ball in the sport travels at a animate of 80 to 95 MPH. The goalie wears almost no pads other than a helmet, chest pad, gloves, and an athletic cup. Throughout a season a goalie suffers severe contusions all over their body and on top of this, they are the last line of defense for their team. The position is a high risk- diminished reward pos ition. If the team wins, they overlook your saves and focus on he players who scored the sweet goal but if you lose everyone looks at you for the amount of goals you let in. intimately importantly the position is chaotic, hectic, loud, and fast paced and you need to make a closing quickly. The average goalie has . 2 guerrillas to make a decision during a game. Therefore you must possess the ability to think quickly on your feet, read, evaluate, and act on a situation extremely fast. This is a huge characteristic of a being a police officer. New that the position was not for everyone, if it was easy everyone would do it was my philosophy, did not principal wherefore no one else raised their hand hat day at tryouts but or else did the job sagacious that others relied on me. The same applies for that of a police officer. guard officers dont consider the dangers of the job they do, the risks they take every day and the abject rewards that come with the job. The greatest reward is something no one else can see, its something you feel. Its knowing that you are part of select brotherhood of others that do everything they can, and then some, to make the world safer. There are many different forms of law enforcement in the world. I have chosen to pursue the route of a field officer, someone who goes out and tops crime first hand. I have looked at becoming a lawyer or someone who is a part of the processing aspect of law and the one field of law enforcement that speaks to me and attracts me higher up all others is that of a field officer, or police officer. I have said before that those that are police Officers do not know why they wish to be a police officer, they just know that it is something that has chosen them.I have looked at the different law enforcement agencies on all levels from federal to evidence to local. Have narrowed it down to two different possible agencies that am pursing and hoping to be employed tit, these are, the Federal position of p robe and the Delaware enjoin legal philosophy. The FBI is on the federal level while the ADS is on the state level. Each have their own responsibilities, mission statements, duties, and specialize departments within. Before I pursue a career with either of these departments I am care college and receiving a bachelors score in Criminal Justice. After college commencement I result be en rocking in the get together demesnes leatherneck corps Officer Candidate School and fate my country on the field level as a united evinces Marine Officer for 4 to 6 years of my life. I have chosen the Marines because they claim to be the best. Their motto is The few, the Proud, the Marines. This has always struck me in a positive, almost ambitious way. Other military musical arrangements ask you to join them giving you a list of opportunities and rewards they can give you.The Marine Corps challenge you to join them, they tell you what you can do for them and earn for yourself in the process, they offer the hardest and longest fostering process out of all the military services and, just like the ADS, they claim to be the best musical arrangement out in that location. Eve always wanted to be a part of the best unit can be. Always wanted to be the best of the best. Feel that there is no other option then to push yourself to the Max and to never cave in trying to get better at everything you possibly can. Eel that obtaining a college degree and becoming an officer in the Marine Corps lead overhaul separate me from others in the extract processes of both the FBI and the ADS. Both of these organizations have nasty and intense selection processes winning on average at least(prenominal) a year to go through both select candidates for specialized training to transform them into effective and capable tools of law enforcement. Eel whole heartedly that the Marine Corps depart supporter prepare me for the discipline and training will endure during the selection process and training periods of both the FBI and the ADS, should I be accepted into these organizations. The Federal means of Investigation, FBI, is a federal police organization that focuses on neutralizing and preventing crime that are too large and diverse for police agencies on the local and state levels. Their mission statement is, To protect and contain the United kingdoms against terrorist and foreign intelligence threats, to uphold and enforce the criminal laws of the United asseverates, and to provide leadership and criminal justice services to federal, state, municipal, and international agencies and partners. (Federal Bureau of Investigation, mission statement, 201 2) The FBI has numerous specialized units in fact, its safe to say that they are nothing but specialized units that all work together under one name and for the same cause, to protect the United States. The FBI has field units in security, SWAT, drug enforcement, national security, air security. They also have law u nits that suss out and chase down some of the countrys worst criminals they sometimes go orbicular in order to track threats against the United States. You can be a linguist and handle language barriers, field agents, they also have a hostage rescue team. The FBI selection process is unbelievably intense there are seven steps to the process. There is the online application process which is the first step and gets your name in the system along with your accomplishments and attributes. Then comes the written test pot which covers your situational judgment skills along with your logical reasoning skills. The second var. Of testing includes a written paper testing role along with an interview from a anal of FBI gameboard members. The next phase is a conditional letter which must be written by a member of the FBI board and approved, giving you permission to continue and take the physical testing portion of the selection process. This tests your ability to run in both a sprint and a timed mile run and do sit-up and pushup in timed fashion. If you complete and realise these qualifications you are submitted to go through a thorough background check by the FBI and if everything in your background check checks out you are submitted to go through a medical examination to see if you are in proper hysterical health to be an agent in the FBI.The selection process for the FBI is rigorous, in depth, and competitive. They select only the best candidates and those that they think will perform the job to the best of their abilities to help out the bureau in every way possible. The Delaware State Police, ADS, is a state level organization that specializes in the governing three counties in the state of Delaware. Unlike other state police agencies, the ADS not only patrol high ways and enforce traffic violations, they also handle all other police priorities that local police agencies handle as well. The average Delaware State cavalryman on a typical day will handle traffic v iolations and answer domestic dispute calls. They handle crimes ranging from felonies to misdemeanors. The ADS have canine units, detectives, hugger-mugger units, scuba units, SWAT units, air units, and patrol officers. As a Delaware State Trooper you can be a part of any of these units as long as you apply and pass the testing for each. The mission of the ADS is, To nurture the quality of life for all Delaware citizens and visitors by providing professional, competent, and compassionate law enforcement services. Delaware State Police, Mission Statement, 2012). Like the FBI, the ADS selection process is insanely rigorous and intense, it takes nigh a year to complete and over 1000 applicants apply and out of those, only 23 are selected to become Delaware State Troopers (Tap. 1st class Jewell, A. 2012). The selection process contains a written process after being accepted from an online application. Once the written process is done an oral board interview is conducted. If you pass t hat you are then submitted to the physical fitness portion of the selection process and tested on your ability to reform sit-ups, pushup, and a timed mile run. If you pass the physical fitness portion you are then submitted to undergo a polygraph exam and fill out a background investigation packet while also being investigated by the police departments investigation unit and interview teams. If all of this is completed and you pass, the ADS will decide on whether or not to admit you to the Delaware State Police Training Academy located in Dover, Delaware. In review of both of these organizations have decided that I will pursue a career with the Delaware State Police as primary career source and the Federal Bureau of Investigation as a secondary career source, as I reviewed and compared both of these organizations have sided with the ADS because of their primary cause which is helping make the federation safer on more of a local and state level rather than focusing on a national leve l. Want to help the people in my community and perform the tasks and duties that are required of the Delaware State Police more so than the Federal Bureau of Investigations.I have failed to list the pay grades of both of the organizations as in my personal beliefs I do not feel that is important, in becoming a ember of law enforcement, such a police officer, it is not about the money. Police officers do the job because it is a calling, the fact that the job pays you is a bonus, police officers dont go into work because of the paycheck they go into work every day with the intentions of doing something good for the community and impacting it in a positive way, they chose this career not because of the pay but because they wouldnt be able to do anything else.If you hear the call Of law enforcement there is no escaping it, you must answer it and until you do so you will not feel fully and truly satisfied. This isnt just a bob but a lifestyle. As stated above, I plan on obtaining a 4 ye ar bachelors degree in criminal justice and serving 4 to 6 years in the SUMS. I feel that taking this route before pursuing my career as a Delaware State Trooper will better prepare me both mentally and physically for my tasks as a police officer, as it will also help me standout in the selection process.I have also gone on sixfold ride-along with the Delaware State Police and seen firsthand the day to day calls and activities of a State Trooper. This career has called me and I am in the process of answering it, one step at a time. Eve kept my nose clean and stayed out of trouble, I will not jeopardize myself and my future career with reckless behavior. If it was easy, everyone would do it- unknown, that quote sums up my entire attitude towards life, I choose to perform the jobs, duties, and tasks that most do not wish to perform. Eel it as my duty and a sense of guilt comes over me when I do not fully undergo and take down these tasks. Believe this is the nous most police officer s and those that have heard the calling feel. The undoubted need and want to help, they undertake the jobs that most would not. In times of peril it is the police, firemen, paramedics, and military military force that run toward the danger. This is something that cannot be explained by anyone in any of these fields it is something that is silent as special and unique to a certain breed of individual.Police officers dont question the thought of chasing an armed suspect down a dark alley, they just do. Firemen dont wonder why they go into a burning building as others run out, they just do. Paramedics and military personnel dont realize that they are redemptive lives by risking their own well being, they just do. The sense and feelings of being in one of these positions cannot be explained, many of times my parents, family members, and friends have asked me, Tom why do you want to be a Marine? Or Police Officer? And every time I tell them the exact same thing, If you have to ask me, you wouldnt understand. No one besides a police officer understands why they do it, risk their lives for complete strangers for low amounts of pay, long hours, and low social rewards. They dont do it for any of the reasons above, they do it because its their duty, its who they are, and its natural in heir blood and DNA The ability to be a police officer is a unique and special trait its not just a career but a lifestyle.

How does Coleridge tell the story in part 3 of Rime of the Ancient Mariner Essay

The chess opening line of part 3 in the first stanza, THERE passed a weary time, quests to the endorser that the diddlysquat is still in a state of suffering, continued from part 2. The capitalisation of the word, there, suggests that natures torture is only being directed at those on the ship. Coleridge furthers the mood of natures torture in this stanza finished his use of close tomography, all(prenominal) throat was parched and glazed each eye. The word, glazed implies a sort of mental vacancy or vegetation, whilst parched denotes that they be exclusively dried out, not only are they dehydrated but they are dried out in the sense that the maw has now all in all lost either remnant of hope and faith in nature. The enjambement in the line is used to highlight and emphasise the extent of the vaporization among the ships crew. However, by the 5th line, the t hotshot of the stanza has get down less(prenominal) sullen, shown through Coleridges deviation from the ballad fo rm.The two extra lines go after the sense of hope newly acquired by the ship after they break a something in the sky. Both the second and third stanzas return to the pompous ballad form to show the ficklness of the Mariners hope. In stanza 2, Coleridge uses unfixed language, shape and seemed, in this stanza in order to maintain the suspense caused by both the proof lector and the Mariners uncertainty about this speck. Its also used to reflect the desperation of the Mariner, as his tone has become more positive despite the potentially dangerous object. The Mariners self-assured tone continues in the third stanza, shown through the structural braid of punctuation, A speck, a mist, a shape, I wist The exclamation is used in order to show the hopefullness of the Mariner, the internal poetry used by Coleridge also creates an upbeat tone, as it speeds up the pace of the poem. Coleridge creates a contrast with the abduce, the object plunged and tacked and veered, as the Mariner s own ship is completely still, the contrast implies to the reader that, perhaps, this sprite may be of the unreal realm, as there is no breeze after all.In stanza 7, Coleridge deviates from the traditional ballad form, this time to shoot the reader aware of the threat that the shape imposes on the Mariner. Within the sestet, Coleridge uses a number of literary devices in order to communicate the danger the Mariners ship is now facing. We see the poet use elemental imagery with the quote, the western wave was all-aflame. The pairing of two conflicting elements, water and fire, nearly seems unnatural, and is an example of the poems supernatural theme.Indeed, the imagery is used to indicate to the reader that the Mariner is now dealing with something supernatural. Coleridge also uses symbolism through the quote, that strange shape drove suddenly betwist us and the Sun. At this point, the Mariner is blocked from any source of light, and arguably, as God created light, this means he is completely cut off from God, and as a result any kind of assistance from God is being obstructed. Essentially, the mariner is unable to be protected or defended against any kind of harmful or supernatural being by this point.Similar symbolism is used in stanza 8, as the Sun was flecked with bars, suggesting that the sun has now been imprisioned by this object. The quote together with the simile, through a dungeon-grate he peered implies that whatever has imprisioned the sun is utterly capable of encaging the Mariners ship, increasing the fear felt by the Mariner at this moment in his story. In stanzas 10 and 11, the reader learns that decease and Life-in-Death are in charge of the mysterious ship. The personification and capitalisation of these two figures communicate to the reader the extent of their power. Coleridge triggers stripe in the reader by abandoning the expected rhyme scheme, having an abccb rather than the routine and typically ballad-like abcb scheme, Coleridges manipulation of structure through capricious punctuation also adds to the jolt is that Death? A total of five questions are asked in stanza 10, creating a sense of both danger and uncertainty. In stanza 11, Coleridge is able to evoke shock from the reader once again when depicting Life-in-Death. The reader is first told that her locks were yellowish as gold, as the simile is fairly conventional, containing the typical romantic and empurpled imagery, Coleridge is able to fool us until he reveals that her skin was white as leprosy. The juxtaposition between gold and leprosy presents her as this liminal figure, whilst she has certain characteristics of a conventional seductress type she is still ghost-like, even demonic. In stanzas 15, 16 and 17, Coleridge implies to the reader that Life-in-Death and Deaths trivialised game of death has led to the mariners deaths with the exemption of the Ancient Mariner.Already, on the first line of the 15th stanza, the star-dogged Moon suggests that change is near. The Mariner communicates his unalterable guilt to the reader by prolonging the first line, one after one, the caesura, used to emphasise the slowing down of pace, also helps to reflect his sorrow about the other mariners, who he feels responsible for. However, by the 16th stanza he speaks in a somewhat detached way as speaks with numerical language, rather than emotionally engaged language, four times fifty breathing men, despite his guilt.Alternatively, the Mariner may have become desensitised after, apparently, centuries of telling this story. Coleridge uses onomatopeoia in order to create a more vivid perception in the readers mind, heavy thump, a lifeless lump. The internal rhyme is used to heighten our auditory and visual senses even more, as it echoes the reasoned created by thump. The onomatopeic language is also used to echo the particular that the Mariner is now completely isolated. In the final stanza, we see other example of the Mariners feelin gs of guilt when he references his own injection of the Albatross, every soulpassed me by like the whizz of my cross-bow. The Mariners routine remark about the Albatross at the end of each part suggest that his guilt is long lasting, as it has remained with him ever since. Essentially, the quote implies that his shooting of the albatross has resulted in the 200 deaths of his fellow mariners part 3 leave us with the sense that the Mariner is now isolated, as headspring as wrapped up in guilt.

All this is aimed at accomplishment of certain personal or depicted object goals.Mahatma Gandhi is some whizz who throne be regarded as a leader by what he did for his country and the great feats that he fulfild during his life- sentencetime. He was born in India (1869- 1948) from not such an influential background save due to his loyalty and devotion to his idealism in life, he arose through the ranks to become a nation al leader that was revered by all masses. His political aspiration was rekind take after he moved to Africa (S let onh Africa) as an attorney and he proverb the rampant abuse of merciful rights by the Transvaals discriminatory governing body which took him into the limelight as being a tenacious crusader of human rights. His fights and campaigns did not end there in South Africa but the intake was developed onto a calling which later was culminated into his character. This worked for him when he returned to his m different country and led his country to independence from the British imperial masters (Fischer 23).Leadership is a approximate that can be quite demanding and several traits are required of those that can merit the title of being a leader. On the forefront is hand and a legacy of self denial ever putting the sakis of others (your subjects) originally your own personal inhalations. This should be something that is inbuilt because learning it is a tough task that is almost impossible. It does not mean that you throw away your ambition in life and form new angiotensin converting enzymes but rather it dictates that you desegregate your ambition with greater ideologies that are expanded to cater for national interests.Synchronization of your interest in life with those of others in life will work top hat and this will be a key in avoiding conflict. He led a simple ascetic life that dod to make him more appealing to all great deal both ugly and rich or mighty (Fischer 67).Leadership comes with an arduous task of dealing with all kinds of people from different walks of life. He was always out there serving others and more so the poor and those who are regarded as low in the Indian caste system. He even left(p) his own caste and went down to lower caste (that was for predominantly poor) and move to raise its social status and pu t it at par with other social castes. This made him a champion of fighting for rights of the poor and the minority.Approach to leadership should be broad minded and not narrow. It has for a long time been taken that advancing racial, ethnic or even tribal can warrant you to be called a leader. This is the wrong approach to leadership since if you convey a country like US for instance, there are many people coming from different races, and different social backgrounds, their ghostly believes and assurance are also divergent thereby for one to be a leader of such a community or nation, he or she must be nationalistic and not racial or regional in the way to approach issues that are affecting the country. In his lifetime, Gandhi was always striving for peace, harmony and good co existence regardless of ones religious inclinations or beliefs (Fischer 56).It is said that he studied all the major religions of the sphere (Christianity, Islam and Hinduism) in his quest for searching for truth which would promote national cohesion. When I was in high school, I was very much involved in merriments and extra curricula activities. Actually, when I joined college it was on scholarship emanating from my athletic abilities. I indulged mostly in basketball where I played in the berth of a forward. In a basketball game (in all sport for that matter) the ultimate goal is to win trophies and be the best in the sport. For a squad to achieve this, all personal ambitions have to be shed for the benefit of the team. All the team members are gifted with different skills and individual talent in most cases can not win games but it is the combined efforts of the team members that win games and trophies.By the mere fact that you made the shortlist, was an version enough that you were talented and capable of success. I was a forward and was selected as the team captain not that I was the best in the team but I had some characters that fitted a leader. It is often said that it is the people who designate you a leader and not you that designate yourself, therefore the prepare had confidence that I could deliver as a captain and religious service my team win trophies. The best run a risk that arose for me to exhibit my leadership gallantry was during one time in the conference finals where it was do or die to clinch the title. The game started well and proceeded on till the last expiry moments when there were five minutes on the buzzer and we were trailing our opponents by five points. In basketball any body can tot up but that job is better left to the forwards because of their enhanced renovate and accuracy.I was good at shooting but there was this guy who was a guard but he was not a regular in the first team. His advantage was that he was very good when it came to three pointers. soulfulness had to be axed so that this guy could be given a chance to even the scores and win the game for us.In the last time off, I convinced the coach to give that guy my c hance so that he could use his prowess in shooting three pointers. The coach at first objected since I was the captain but later had to cave in and that is how we won the trophy because the guy did his thing and we emerged victorious in the end.Work citedFischer, L. Far From the Maddening Crowd Essay

Bathsheba Everdene is the main character in the book Far From The Madding Crowd. She is central to virtually every situation and is held in high regard by the colony people. She has her ups and downs in the book, her highs and her lows, upriseing love and happiness, only for it to be torn away(p) from her and handed back to her in the not too distant approaching Bathsheba begins the book in a cold hearted way, first refusing to marry Gabriel oak and then playing with the feelings of farmer Boldwood, this coming back to haunt her tho in the book. She reluctantly sent Boldwood a Valentines card aided by her maid Liddys persuasion, declaring her love for him, and seemingly to her surprise, poor Boldwood takes it very disadvantageously resulting in a cat and mouse game of love. In chapter 24 at the fir plantation, Bathsheba was heading home when she bumped into a dark extraterrestrial being and became tangled up in his boots. She tried to wriggle free just to no avail. After a lot of fiddling by the stranger, he freed Bathsheba and rose face to face. Bathsheba asked him Who are you then, who can so well chip in to despise opinion? The stranger replied No stranger. Sergeant troy weight.Bathsheba was seemingly spooked by troy little knowing hed be her future husband. Bathsheba met up with troy weight on several occasions and afterwards fell in love with him. They agreed to marry whilst on a visit to Bath and returned to Casterbrige to Boldwoods and Oaks despair as Mr. and Mrs. Troy. When Boldwood discovered the news, he was erratic in his actions. He offered to buy Bathsheba from Troy and eventually after torment from Troy, he murdered him in social movement of the whole of the village at a Christmas party. He then proceeded to get the better of himself with the same gun and in the same spot where Troy died.Bathsheba was late upset about the remnant of her husband despite the fact he declared he did not return her feelings after the death of his foregoing fianci , Fanny Robbin. Eventually our widow married Farmer Oak whom she intelligibly was in love with from the first time they met. Bathshebas toying with Oak, Troy and especially Boldwood could be seen as a reason for her not to find happiness in the book, but despite her unkind joke with Boldwood, Bathsheba didnt set out to hurt anyone and was caught up in a fight for her love between these men. After the death of Fanny Robbin, it was unmixed that Troy was still in love with this woman, despite her failing to show for their wedding. He blamed all his misfortune on his wife, Bathsheba and he bullied her into feeling that she was to blame. The death of Troy was a blessing in disguise as she would get hold of been sad for all her days and would not have ended up married to Oak. All in all, I feel that Bathsheba deserved to be happy, as she was an honest, hard working woman who was independent and capable. I deem she was genuinely sorry for the Valentines card to Boldwoo d.She finally does find happiness in Oak and realises his companionship and true love is what she has wanted all her life. I think Gabriel Oak certainly was the right man for her as, like his puddle suggests, he was angelic, solid and dependable. This was evident when he stays by her, and by his actions on the night of the storm when he and Bathsheba worked together to cover the crops. It is evident they are in love when they cast eyes upon each different and fail to remove them for a few seconds, showing mutual voiceless understanding and purpose.

During the 17th century, artists were focusing more on feeling and drama, also known as the Baroque time period. The overall style of Baroque art in paintings is detailed realism in portraits, epic landscapes, and a focus on the dramatic including the contrast between high spirits and shadow and the use of rich, deep colors. (Minded, 2. 05) Vermeer clobbered mainly in the Dutch Baroque style and does a magnificent Job in portraying and pitch to life an public task in the life of a handmaiden girl in The Milkmaid. On the other hand, Woman Baking Bread was motley in the Realist style during the 19th century. More specifically, this piece of art was motley in the French Realist style, which came about after the Revolution of 1848. Mi llets use of a simple, natural style with warmer colors and heavy application of paint (Minded, 3. 15) are characteristic traits in a Realist painting. Both works of art magnificently depicts the everyday domestic life. True to both styles, they both realistically depict a woman doing an every day task. Vermeers is that of a milkmaid oaring milk and Millets is that of a woman baking bread. However, both were painted in very different ways. Whereas Vermeers work is a prime example of a Dutch Baroque painting with its realistic way of portraying an everyday task, the use of bold colors, the detail, and the deep contrast between light and dark, Millets work is a prime example of a French Realist painting where the colors are warmer and much more simple. Vermeer was well known for his careful attention to detail. For example, the Jug and hands of the servant in The Milkmaid reveals a number of enticements, created as the artist struggled to depict them convincingly. (Frantic, 7)

This is a 15. 4% increase from 2000 to 2010 (Rastogi, Johnson, Hoeffel & Drewery, 2011). Is it change state increasingly difficult to describe the American black population, though the majority of American blacks trace their heritage to slavery, an increasing minority are instinctive immigrants or their descendan ts. More Africans carry entered the United States since 1990 as voluntary immigrants than entered as slaves before slave trafficking was outlawed in the early nineteenth century ( Marger 2012 p. 178).Never before and in no other country have as many varied ethnic groups congregated and combined as they have in the United States. With such reputation, here is exactly where the famous status melting pot arises. This conception has traditionally been perceived as the beat expression to describe the multi-ethnicity of America. Its basic idea presents the whole nation as one large pot. Anyone who enters the United States is automatically thrown into this pot where, for the adjacent years, a process of assimilation into the American belief systems is taken place. enculturation is all the cultural aspects that one brings into are blended together, or melted, to form a new culture. The outcome of this massive procedure is the melted sport of a culture, which is described as characteris tically American. It is notable that in this assimilation, the identities of each(prenominal) original culture are extinguished to bring out a complete new mixture Slavery Part of the control machine of slavery was to strip African Americans of identity, language, and culture of their homeland.
