The Effects Of Religious Persecution On The Middle Eastern...
ââ¬Å"All religion seem to need to prove that itââ¬â¢s the only truth. And thatââ¬â¢s where it turns demonic. Because thatââ¬â¢s when you get religious wars and persecution and burning heretics at the stake,â⬠John Shelby Spong, a retired American bishop of the Episcopal Church, stated about religious persecution circumnavigating the globe. In todayââ¬â¢s world persecution is a natural reaction to any kind of foreign belief established in a country that is governed by the itââ¬â¢s original religious foundation. An example of this would involve, ISIS terrorizing smaller religious groups like the Yazidi people who practice a form of Islam, but then detoured from Islamââ¬â¢s original ways. Yazidi people are not the only ones; other various foreign religious groups likeâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Christianity is the largest religion worldwide; thus becoming more receptive to persecution especially in the Muslim regions. ââ¬Å"Wherever there is growing Islamic radicalism, there is growing persecution of Christians,â⬠Todd Nettleton, a spokesman for Martyrs all around the world stated. ââ¬Å"Even where moderate Islamic states offer peace ââ¬â and that is rare ââ¬â they almost never have freedom to practice their faith and are often marked for death,â⬠Nettleton added to his statement above. Why is Christianity so hated by Muslims? The answer is found in the mass amount of converts in the Middle Eastern countries and also the historical background of the two religions. ââ¬Å"Christian missionaries have won over millions of converts to the faith-many of whom are now targeted and persecuted according to Islam s anti-apostasy law, which often calls for the death penalty.â⬠Raymond Ibrahim states concerning Christian converts in Muslim territories. The bases of Islamic beliefs originate from Christianity and because of that, Christian missionaries are able to confront the Muslim faith on its inaccuracies and contradict Muhammadââ¬â¢s teachings. The obvious effect of such proclamations start to explain the reason for Christian persecution in Middle Eastern countries. All were badly brutalized and then crucified. They were left on their crosses for two days. No one was allowed to remove them. the ministry leader
